Who I Am

Who I Am

I have twelve years of social work experience in a variety of settings: hospital floors, psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient behavioral health units, day programs, and schools.  I have experience with children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. I have worked with individuals facing major medical diagnoses, individuals recovering from major traumas, those facing end-of-life decisions, and everything in-between. My experience enables me to offer effective and individualized psychological care.  I treat a number of mental health disorders, and I provide a neutral, non-judgmental ground to individuals, families, and couples. Depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma can steal the color and light from your daily life.  Let me help you bring back the sunshine, joy, and laughter!

My Treatment Focus

My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I listen to my client's concerns and goals and formulate creative and individualized treatment plans capitalizing on a client's strengths.  I use a variety of tools and activities to help clients examine their thought patterns, change self-destructive choices, and build on coping skills. My philosophy uses a combination of techniques and theories, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique.

My Patient Promise

I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. Everyone faces challenges, and at times they can seem insurmountable. I will help you define yourself outside of those challenges, and I will give you the tools so that your trauma does not define your life.

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am able to help you recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I offer therapy and counseling services to help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

Relationships

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both individuals in the relationship and I offer a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.

Topics

Group therapy is a wonderful solution to certain problems and situations. Hearing from others that they truly understand the myriad of feelings you experience can be both validating and freeing. Some of the issues effectively addressed in group therapy are eating disorders, grief, addiction, domestic violence, low self-esteem, and anger. In addition, groups are the best way to build social skills! Ask me about my current groups!
